Iole

In Greek mythology, Iole was the daughter of King Eurytus of Oechalia. Iole was claimed by Hercules as a bride, but Eurytus refused her hand in marriage. On the contrary, he announced a pan-Hellenic archery match with a prize of Iole for whoever defeated him. Eurytus was the grandson of the god Apollo and was therefore a keen archer as a user of his divine bow. Hercules defeated Eurytus, but the king refused to give him Iole because she did not want him either.
