Serifos

Serifos is a picturesque and idyllic island of the Cyclades with characteristic architecture and has beaches for every taste.
In Greek mythology, Danae and her infant son Perseas ended up in Serifos, after her father Acrisios, in response to an oracle that his grandson would kill him, threw them into the sea. When Perseus returned to Serifos with the head of the Mermaid Medusa, he turned the king of Serifos Polydectes to stone as punishment for the king’s attempt to marry his mother by force.
